10 Months Old and Brushing

So, you know how I take a picture every month on the 15th to capture Nolan's growth and development? Well this month, I asked Brady to capture the moment...

Never. Again.

Seriously, what was I thinking in allowing him to capture my adorable little man's photo?

That's right, I wasn't.

Seriously. Anyway, our little man is finally having his teeth brushed (I know, I know, bad momma-it's about time!). He has explored the toothbrush before, I just hadn't put any baby toothpaste on it yet and actually brushed. But, now I have. He didn't mind it at all. He just wanted to be in control of it instead of letting me. So, I basically got a couple of swishes on his two teeth, and then there was a screaming fit until I caved and just let him hold it and chew on the bristles (I know I'm not supposed to Aunt Mo!). However, it resulted in some pearly whites...

Check out those teefers!

Splish, Splash

Yesterday was a pretty day out and it wasn't too terribly hot in the morning, so we decided to finally blow up Nolan's turtle pool that Pa-paw sent us! While Brady used all of his good oxygen to blow up the pool, Nolan tried to climb inside of it, and I laughed! I really wish I had taken pics of this, but I couldn't stop laughing : )

Once Brady regained his breath, I got Nolan ready by lathering on sun-screen and putting on his fish swim trunks. Nolan had no idea what was going on, and I think he was questioning why he didn't have a shirt on! We finally took him outside, where I found that the turtle's head could be a sprinkler while attached to the hose! I thought it was very neat, but Nolan...not so much. Brady then set him in the pool and he wasn't too sure about it at first either. He seemed confused that his bath toys were in a different pool of water, and they were all outside! We got him to splash a couple of times, and then he was over it. We realized that it was too close to naptime once we got back inside, so next time we will have to plan ahead.

My Little Boy and his Push Toy

I'm still not ready for him to be walking yet, but I finally got some video of him doing so with his push toy. I don't think it will be too long before he is doing it all on his own...running into walls and then backing up to go run into another one, or just leaving the push toy behind! *sigh*

He's all grown up people.

Holy Cow!

So, yesterday was Cow Appreciation day at Chick-Fil-A, and I really wanted to take Nolan, especially since he has a cow costume in his closet that he's never worn. However, I picked him up from daycare, and he fell asleep on the way so we decided to just go home. And as luck always has it...he woke up as soon as I turned off the car. I thought about just turning around and going back, but I knew that he would have just fallen back to sleep, so I opted to let him nap at home. But Nolan opted to play a little longer and then fight his sleep, but of course, sleep finally won. We both wound up napping for 2 hours...oops!

Anyway, we didn't wind up going to chick-fil-a afterall, but since I had the cow costume out, I thought why not take some pics?

He was really excited to be dressed as a cow, he just kept saying "Cow, cow, cow!"

I'm really bummed that I didn't get to take him, maybe next year...someone find me a new cow suit!!!

Checkups and push toys...

Nolan had his 9 month checkup last week...he is now 20 lbs 3 oz and 29" long. Our family doc said that he is ready for a big boy carseat if we are ready. We're not. Ok, I'm not. I know he would love it, but he can wait a little longer, because I said so.

The doc also said that Nolan can start eating table foods, with some exceptions. So, we started feeding him some things off of our plates, and we bought him a few things that are easier to chew...vienna sausages (blech!) You have no idea how much I hate these things, but of course, Nolan enjoyed them. He ate about two of them, and here is the proof of delight...

Ugh...it's so disgusting, it's cute!

Another update...he is walking pretty well with a push toy. We won't talk about that too much just yet. Basically, cause I am on the verge of tears and cause I want to have the video to go along with it. Everytime he starts to walk with it I become cautious and get behind him with my arms stretched out to catch him, or I'm just in too much of an awe that my little monster is becoming a big boy that I forget to capture it on film! I'll get it soon...when I'm ready, I promise.
