Checkups and push toys...

Nolan had his 9 month checkup last week...he is now 20 lbs 3 oz and 29" long. Our family doc said that he is ready for a big boy carseat if we are ready. We're not. Ok, I'm not. I know he would love it, but he can wait a little longer, because I said so.

The doc also said that Nolan can start eating table foods, with some exceptions. So, we started feeding him some things off of our plates, and we bought him a few things that are easier to chew...vienna sausages (blech!) You have no idea how much I hate these things, but of course, Nolan enjoyed them. He ate about two of them, and here is the proof of delight...

Ugh...it's so disgusting, it's cute!

Another update...he is walking pretty well with a push toy. We won't talk about that too much just yet. Basically, cause I am on the verge of tears and cause I want to have the video to go along with it. Everytime he starts to walk with it I become cautious and get behind him with my arms stretched out to catch him, or I'm just in too much of an awe that my little monster is becoming a big boy that I forget to capture it on film! I'll get it soon...when I'm ready, I promise.

9. Months. Old.

My countdown has begun to the days of a pre-toddler. A pre-toddler! Why can't we just freeze them where we would like them to stay? Where they are still cute and huggable, or least want to be huggable. He already pushes off of my lap to crawl around, which is really sad cause I just want to hold and love my little baby. However, he's not a baby anymore (Our family dr said that he looked like a tiny 6 year old!), he's a little boy that is changing everyday...

He got a tooth (but I can't get a picture of it...but this attempt was too cute not to share!).

He claps now, and it's soooooo cute! : )

He's waving bye-bye again.

He loves him some baseball!

He is talking your ear off, and I swear he has about 5 words...I don't care what any of y'all say!

He is still trying to crawl on all fours, and he is about to master standing! Pulling to stand is no longer a work in progress, so place a check by that.

He's eating more baby food than we can buy...hopefully we get the go ahead to go with table food at our 9 month check-up. He likes it, so we might as well start.

He doesn't know what "NO" means!

He loves to give kisses that are so sweet and slobbery! : )

And, he likes waiting for them in return...

...You can tell he enjoyed that, right?

He's 9 months old, and he's proud of himself!

*sigh*

He just keeps growing...

We went on a family outing yesterday to pick up a few things that we have been needing, since Nolan just keeps on growing.

Our first stop was Babies R Us. We went there cause we recieved some coupons in the mail and decided to finally go get that booster seat we've been meaning to get. While we were there, I decided to look at activity tables that Nolan can stand and play at cause the kid loves to stand. So, needless to say, we walked out of Babies R Us with a booster seat, activity table, a new bath towel, some sunscreen and a Rangers t-shirt!

Next destination was JCPenny, where we bought some new pillows...ours were flat. So that was a short trip, just in and out.

Finally, we went shopping at Old Navy! Momma needed some new clothes, and with dresses on sale for $15...Hello! We all got a little something there...Brady and Nolan have matching shorts, so be on the look out for some adorable pictures (as soon as I can get them without Brady looking!)!

It was a nice, hot day even if it threw Nolan off his schedule. However, he did have some new things to explore once we got home...

Here he is exploring with his new activity table, in sitting and standing!

And here he is watching the Rangers right before bedtime (he was exhausted, but wouldn't turn away from the game!)

Finally, his new booster chair that he got all nice and sticky!

It's about time I updated, right?

8 month update

First off, I just want to share a picture that I wish I had taken last week during the teething ordeal. It's from this evening where he was fighting off sleep, but it would have fit perfectly with my description of last week...

He's precious, right?

Now, 8 months...you know what that means to me? It means that in 4 months, I'll have a one-year old! A one-year old, people. I can't get over that idea.

Anyway, remember last month I posted a video of the beginning stages of crawling/creeping? Well, he still hasn't quite mastered actual crawling, but army crawling is the transportation of choice...and he has gotten really fast! Take a look for yourselves (and don't get on to me for not proofing yet, I know it needs to be done! Oh, and check out Brady's dainty, pointed toe-ha! :))...

He's quick, right? According to his teachers, he is harrassing the other children in his class, but some of them deserve it cause they pull his hair! I'm just saying. They also tell me that he climbs up and down from a shelf that is low to the ground...he has the small bruises to prove it! I found one on his ear that I didn't know how it got there, mainly because I just thought that a bruise on your ear was weird. He could have very well done it at home, but his teacher informed me that he bumped the shelf as he was trying to crawl in it...that's my boy!

Please pray for me, I'm obviously going to have to keep a close eye on this one!

Happy Mother's Day

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day! Mine will be unforgettable : ) My little man was not in a good mood...I'm talking CRANKY and FUSSY!!! If his darn teeth would just come in, the world would be a better place, or at least my world! I feel sorry for him and just wish that I could do something, but I can't. Oh well.

I'm finally somewhat rested and just hope that tonight is not a repeat of last night's battle with sleep and Nolan.

It's time to get some much needed rest...sorry there aren't any pictures. Maybe next time.

Good Morning

Even though it's way past morning, this is how Nolan wakes up...
