Trick or Treat

After a much needed two-hour nap, Nolan and I got ready to get out and Trick or Treat. I didn't get any pictures of us actually trick or treating, but I got some once we got home. However, a couple of the folks we visited did get some pics, so hopefully they will send them to me!

Elvis was ready

This was my shirt
We grabbed his bag...

...and got in the car.

First off, we hit a co-worker's house, basically cause she wanted to see Nolan in his costume! He was pretty shy at first, but then opened up once he saw their dog and bucket of toy cars! Nolan actually tried to sneak away with a couple of cars, but her son was keeping a close eye on him : )

Next, we stopped at a fellow Levelland-er's home, who has known me since I was in diapers! I felt bad for interrupting her dinner, but of course, she didn't mind at all! She let Nolan grab his own candy, and he did not want to put them in his bag...until she told him to grab more!

Then I decided to stop at Chick-Fil-A to get some grub in both of our tummies. Nolan was obviously hungry cause he started screaming at me as soon as the drive thru girl handed me the bag! He had a couple of nuggets on the way to another co-worker's house, and then we finished them on her front porch as we watched the other trick or treaters pass by. She lives on one of the hot spots in town when it comes to Halloween...we got to her house at 6, left at 7 and she ran out of candy! I think that's unheard of back home. Anyway, while we were there, Nolan kept trying to walk away with the families, especially the ones with toddlers. I finally took him across the street so that he could experience the madness, and he loved it! He was talking to the other kids as they passed by, and he tried to grab a little girl's hand, but she wasn't having it...she shouted, "NO!" and pulled away : )

Finally, it was time to head back towards the house, but not before we stopped at Brady's supervisor's house (again...she wasn't home the first time we went by...how dare she! ;) ). She was our last stop, and well, she topped off his bag! Thanks (and I say that cause you know I'm gonna eat all this crap!)!!! Nolan was definitely done by this time, and we even had to ask for some milk.

We got home and though I thought he was about to konk out, he proved me wrong. Way wrong (he stayed up 'til 9:30). He was very excited to see his tractor in the garage, so we played on it for a while, and then we went inside to check out his loot!

What do you mean I can't eat it now???

We had a great night, and got to see some good friends! Thanks everyone : )

Fall Festival

Nolan attended his first Fall Festival yesterday at daycare, while I made my first of many, cake walk cakes...

I got to daycare around 4:45pm yesterday, took the cake to the office, so that they could take it ove to the activity center while I went to get "The King" ready. We drove across the street to teh activity center parking lot, and I started getting him ready in the car. He wasn't too sure about this, but he cooperated as long as he had his cup.

Once I got him dressed, minus the ascot, we went on in cause he was getting antsy in the car...daddy would just have to find us inside. At this point, Nolan really didn't care about where we were, or who told him that he looked cute (we got TONS of compliments)...all he wanted was his cup! I finally got him into the main part of the activity center, and he then decided to ditch the cup and walk around to see, just exactly, what was going on. After he checked out a couple of the centers (he didn't participate in them, he just checked them out), he noticed the bounce houses. One of the volunteers pointed out to me that there was a smaller bounce house for the babies, but Nolan had his eyes on the big ones! He didn't throw a fit or anything, but he was intrigued. I finally got him over to the baby bounce house, tried to put him in, and he wouldn't budge. He just stood there. So I decided to get him involved in something else and at that time, daddy arrived. He went straight to Brady, and of course, let him put him in the bounce house. He seemed to like it, or I like to think he did, cause he sat down and started bouncing! But it didn't last too long.

We then decided that he needed to eat something, so we took him over to where they were serving hot dogs, which is one of his favorite meals. I went to buy the hot dog, while Nolan sat with Brady and drank his cup (imagine that). When he saw me coming back towards them with a plate, his face lit up, and when he saw it was a hot dog, it lit up more! The kid ate it up.

When we went back to the activity room, we were going to have a go at the cake walk before we left, but were surprised to see that the crowd had doubled and the cake walk room was a mad house! So, we opted for a better idea, a cute picture with Mr. Scarecrow...

After that, Elvis started getting a little clingy and fussy, so that could only mean one thing...he had had enough. We decided to hit the road, but not before he struck an infamous pose.

Ladies and Gentleman, Elvis has left the building...

My Favorite Outfit

I love this jumpuit. Brady calls it a prisoner outfit, but I think it's the cutest thing I've purchased. I even think I bought it before he was born, or at least right after. He just looks too cute in it...

And he looks even cuter dancing in it...

He's dancing along with his two favorite monkeys, Ooh and Aah from the Disney channel...we watch them every morning, and he just can't get enough!

Ooh-Ooh, Ooh-Ooh, Aah-Aah, Bye-bye!

Just a Peek

I'm giving you guys a tiny peek to what Nolan is for Halloween.

Are you ready?

Ladies and Gentleman...

Here he is...

The King...

Elvis Lives!!!

This is the reason he hasn't had a hair cut yet...and we'll see if I can bear to cut it after Halloween is over. I'm slowly talking myself into it. However, for now, he will have a headful of hair just like Mr. Presley : )

Uh-huh.

Calm Before the Storm

It's usually pretty calm around our house for supper time, basically because everyone is eating and too busy to talk. Of course, there is the occasional, "Nolan, don't feed the dog."; "Nolan, stop throwing your food!"; "Nolan, that's it, are you done???" You know, the usual.

I mean it's so calm that Nolan is hanging out in his booster chair as if he should be sitting on a river bank with Huck Finn...

Don't you just want to eat those little piggies!
However, the storm comes along. It always does.
This time Daddy is out of the room, so the little one has to know where he is, and he demands to know, several times...
DAD!
DAAAADDDYY!
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!
I don't know what that face is, but it all leads to the best look in the world...
He just wants to say "Hi" to his daddy : )
Gotta love it.

A. W. E...S. O. M. E.

He totally is! To. To. Tally!

These are just more pics of another new and AWESOME shirt that I just got him...it suits him well : )

I mean, the kid can hit a ball out of the park...(his toy says so!)

These pics here are prior to a not so awesome moment. Just check out the video below.

But look as all his teefers!

He was laughing cause he thought taking off his socks was hilarious! That all changes in a bit...

He heard his daddy in the other room, so he went to go find him, and then he found himself...

And this one is showing you all just how AWESOME he considers himself to be...look at all those kisses he gave himself! Just like his daddy : )

So Big and Silly

I just can't believe how tall he is...he is 30.5" But he looks much taller!

I was really just trying to take good pictures cause of his new airplane shirt, but I wound up getting a sequence of pics. He was playing with both the yellow and red ball, when he decided to go to the dog cage; he then realized he left the yellow ball and went to retrieve it; then he needed to stand up to go get it again; but then he got distracted, from seeing me as he was pushing to get up, so he fell back down laughing! He's so cute!!!

Comforting

I think we've found our lovie : )

Some nights it's all I have to put him to sleep...he doesn't want to hear me sing, he doesn't want to be rocked, he doesn't want his cup...he wants his puppy dog! It's sweet, except for the fact that I have to keep pulling the thing to make it sing. Anything for my little man.

The Other Rocking Horse

Brady's grandparents bought him this rocking horse, which he was so not sure of in the beginning. But one day, we came home from school and he wanted to ride it...however, he only rode it if it neighed/clopped/made all the noises...Thanks A Lot, Granny and Papa!!!

He hasn't quite figured out how to get off of it though...he's too short...for once!

Duh, Nuh, Nuh, Nuh, Nuh, Nuh, Nuh, Nuh...

BATMAN!!!

My cousins bought Nolan these Batman pjs for his birthday, and they are hilarious! Especially when after I put them on, he comes running out of the room with both hands in up in the air, as if he's flying! I'm really sorry I didn't catch that on film!!! It was really funny though, cause it's like he knew that he was supposed to do that : )

Anywho, our little Batman is saving the world with one red ball at a time...

And, he'll even make sure your dog is healthy!!!

*I didn't capture the best of Batman, however...right before bedtime he was rolling around throwing the best fit I've ever seen! I mean, his cape came off!!! THAT'S how good it was!

The Sweat Suit

It was a little cool earlier last week, so we broke out the Tech sweat suit that Papa bought...

Nolan rocked it! It has his name on it, but he's covering it with his hand, oh well.

After I took these pics and looked over them, I realized that Nolan reminded me of someone...

I know you can see the resemblence! Nolan say hello to your late future, son! HAHA!!!

By the way, if you guys aren't watching Modern Family, you need to start : )

Walking, walking, walking...

I've been promising some folks that I would be posting a video of Nolan walking, and I'm just now getting around to it...sorry.

It's not the best video cause I filmed it with my camera up and down, and I forget that it doesn't film that way. Well it does, but you know what I mean, the picture doesn't come out that way...whatever. So, bear with me and just tilt your head : ) (I'm picturing all of you with your heads tilted, and it's hilarious!!!)

*don't mind the mess, it was the morning after the party, so mom, zip it!

Birthday

I'm really behind on posting, so I'm just now telling you all what Nolan and I actually did on his birthday.

I decided to take the day off and spend it with my special little guy : ) However, things didn't go as planned because Nolan was running the show. We woke up, got dressed, said bye to daddy, ate breakfast, and then Nolan decided to go back to sleep for a couple of hours. Once he woke up, we ate lunch and then ventured off the the Mayborn Museum (it's a children's museum on Baylor campus). It was fun to see Nolan walk around trying to do all the things he saw some older kids do, but he just wasn't old enough to quite get it. We had fun, but he definitely let me know when it was time to go! (I didn't get any actual pictures at the museum cause the camara was charging at home...sorry.)

So, we stopped at my office for a quick second, and then we came home for nap number two, which actually last 3 hours!!! That's the longest nap this child has ever taken! However, when he woke up, he was as happy as could be...

Finally, when daddy came home, we gave him his last birthday present that we saved for the actual day; he's not too sure of it...

But that is freakin' adorable, right??? I love this little rocker! It's name is Homer : )

See, I didn't make that up!
